Getting Started & Participation

Is this available to the public?: No. Access is controlled and enforced, not merely stated. Right now the Atlas is being evaluated internally through our Rhine Dogfood Beta — Early Explorer Phase 1 has not begun, so there are no outside testers using it yet.
Do I need to create an account?: No. There is no sign-up, login, or account system in the current beta.
Can I sign up?: Not in the sense of joining something — there is no self-service sign-up, and nothing on this website enrolls you or reserves a place. What you can do is request an invitation, which is an expression of interest: you tell us you'd like to be considered, we read it ourselves, and we consider each one individually. Early Explorer Phase 1 is expected to be about 4–5 people, so most requests will not result in an invitation. Where is my data stored?: In the current beta build, what you add is stored in your browser rather than uploaded to a cloud database. This describes the current build, not a permanent architectural promise — see our The Atlas page for how we scope claims like this.
Does the Atlas use AI to understand my photos?: No. The current beta does not use AI or machine learning to decide what a photo or memory means. You remain the one making that call.
Does the Atlas use facial recognition?: No. The current beta does not scan faces, identify or match people, or build biometric profiles.
Can I share my Atlas publicly, or with family?: Not yet. There is no public-sharing or link-sharing feature in the current beta.
Does this website use cookies, analytics, or tracking?: No. This website sets no cookies at all, and uses no analytics, tracking scripts, advertising pixels, or externally hosted fonts. The separate invitation-only beta tools — which are not part of this website — use one strictly-necessary cookie to remember invited access; it is not a tracking or marketing cookie.

Can I export or back up what I've added?: Yes. The current beta includes export/backup functionality for the trips and Moments you've created.

What should I avoid adding during the beta?: Medical, legal, custody, school, government-ID, financial, or intimate materials, and large unsorted photo dumps. See our Current Private Beta page for the full list.
